Hirofumi Noda

Hirofumi Noda is an associate professor at the Astronomical Institute at Tohoku University in Japan. His research primarily focuses on X-ray observations of black holes and the development of X-ray detectors. After earning his PhD from the University of Tokyo, he worked on developing the X-ray microcalorimeter onboard ASTRO-H at RIKEN, and the X-ray CCD camera on board XRISM at Osaka University.
He is particularly interested in the accretion physics of supermassive black holes and feeding and feedback processes of active galactic nuclei, using NewAthena.
Currently, he is a member of the NewAthena Science Study Team (NASST), representing the international partner JAXA.
He is willing to contribute to NewAthena by leveraging my experience with ASTRO-H and XRISM in hardware development and the science of precise X-ray spectroscopy.
